I'm going to have to start blogging either in the morning to talk about the previous day OR waiting until nighttime before bed to document what I did for the day. ANYWAYS....
So yesterday was Mother's Day and we went to see Something Borrowed. I thought it was pretty good, not sure I would see it again, but I'm glad I saw it. I pretty much thought all of the characters in it were pathetic except for Ethan. Dex was pathetic as was Rachel and Darcy. Ethan was incredibly cute and Rachel is crazy for not falling for a guy who says "You are home for me". Sigh...
At the show, the rents got popcorn, which I passed on. When we got home, I went to the gym and did 4 miles on the treadmill, jog 2 and walk 2. I was pretty beat after that so I called it quits and came back home to find 2 pieces of pizza waiting for me from dinner. I passed on that too. I'm down about 4lbs. but I seem to always lose around 5 lbs when I start dieting and then can't seem to go from there. HOPEFULLY this time will be different.
Today I had half a banana for breakfast and chicken wrap with cottage cheese for lunch. I might do 30 Day Shred later or Biggest Loser Cardio Max depending on my mood. For dinner, I'll probably have half a sandwich and some cottage cheese or a vegetable of some sort.

Day 4-5
Yesterday was a major fail. Before I get to that, let me include that on Friday I ended up going to the park and running/walking for about 45 minutes. Okay, back to my fail.
My mom made desserts Saturday morning for a party she was going to that evening. They were chocolate cups with chocolate mouse and a raspberry in them. So, of course I had to try one when they were complete. Sooo good. Later on, my fam went out to eat at Dennys (we eat out a lot if you haven't already caught on) and I again got the $4 chicken wraps and brought half of it home. Later on, we had to go to the funeral home (my uncle's brother passed away) and returned home a few hours after. I then ate another one of my mom's desserts before she headed off with them to the party. An hour or so later, I went to Applebees to the bar with my best friend to drink margaritas. Um, yeah. If you thought the dessert was my fail of the day, you were wrong. I had a fishbowl strawberry margarita, then a strawberry mango margarita. Sooooo good yet sooooo many calories. I don't even want to know. Our other friend met us and we went to Brewskees afterwards where I had an amareto sour. Another fail. Ugh.
So all in all, I drank sugary drinks, ate sugary desserts and didn't work out all day. Great. I am definitely not weighing myself this morning.
Since it's Mother's Day, my dad went and got donuts from this amazing local shop in our town. There are only 3 of us and he got enough for like 6. I ate 3 donut holes and am looking away from the chocolate longjohn and other yummy looking donuts downstairs. Today is all about a lot of water and hopefully squeezing in a workout if we don't have too many Mother's Day plans.
I know one thing we are doing is seeing Something Borrowed where my mom will be eating popcorn, so that will be interesting. I think after last night though it should be pretty easy skipping it. We'll see.

Day 2-3
So, I thought I'd blog about more than just my diet on here, but that's all I feel like writing about. Oh well.
Yesterday, my dad wanted to go out to lunch so I tagged along (I skipped breakfast again.. whoops). We went to Dennys and I ordered the chicken wraps off the $4 menu. So, I got two grilled chicken wraps that had a little bbq sauce, lettuce and cheese. It came with chips and salsa. It was so good! And definitely one of the healthiest options at that place. I also only ate half of it and brought the other half home. I kept thinking about working out but it never happened.. I later was starving so I ate the other half of my lunch and continued on with my day. Then that night, my parents wanted to go out for mexican (since it was Cinco de Mayo) and I tagged along again. I didn't order anything at the restaurant; just had some chips and salsa. There was NOTHING healthy on the menu and I wasn't going to cave.
I weighed myself this morning for the first time since a month or so. I'm down 1 pound since then, which I guess is good considering before starting my new healthy kick, I was eating terribly. I then drank a good amount of water and left the house a bit before 930 to go to the library while roofers were at our house. I didn't have a chance to grab something for breakfast and I wasn't going to stop in a fast food joint. I spent about an hour at the library then came back home and ate 6 raspberries with 2 spoonfuls of frozen whipped cream. If you haven't tried frozen whipped cream before, you are seriously missing out. Whipped cream is extremely low in calories (25 for 2 tbsp), fat (1.5 g) and carbs (2). It doesn't have any nutritional value, but it is a great alternative to ice cream if you are craving something sweet like that. And so good with all berries!
Now I'm going to catch up on last night's Grey's Anatomy then hit the gym or track. Can't decide which I should do today. We'll see!

Day 1
Hey guys! So today was day one.. and I wasn't as intense as I thought I would be. Of course though, that's how it always is. I set really strict guidelines for myself the night before, then when the day comes, I don't follow it :)
I still did pretty good though. What I didn't do well with was skipping breakfast. I ALWAYS skip breakfast and I need to kick that habit and find something I can eat in the morning without wanting to puke. I just never have an appetite in the morning.
A little before noon I headed to the gym. I did 2.5 miles on the treadmill, then did some upper body strength on the machines. I then came home and did the 30 Day Shred DVD (and about died). I forgot how difficult it was... or maybe it felt that way since I had just worked out at the gym. Hmm.
Then, I got an intense migraine! Ugh. I watched Grey's Anatomy with my dad since we both hadn't see it yet from last week (I'm so OVER the Cali/baby story line.. her name is Cali right? I'm sure that's not how you spell it). I ate lunch while watching; a turkey and cheese sandwich on whole wheat bread with BBQ Lays chips... I guess the chips aren't healthy, but I needed to finish up the bag in the house, right? haha. ANYWAY, I barely made it through the show before I headed upstairs to take a nap to try and rid my migraine. After a 2-3 hour nap, my head was feeling better and my nausea was pretty much gone. I get nauseous from taking pain meds, so the Aleve I took for my headache made me feel sick. The only meds that won't make me feel sick is Motrin, and we are out of it. Must go to the store!
Tonight on TV I'll be watching Modern Family, Survivor, and American Idol. So much TV! But I love it :) Not sure what I'll have for dinner.

beginnings
Hi guys! Welcome to my blog :) I have another blog out in the blogosphere with some awesome followers, but I wanted to start fresh and have a place where I can be more open and carefree with what I write about. I want to blog about my plan to start living a healthier lifestyle with daily exercise and eating healthy foods. I've gotten in the habit of not going to the gym and eating fast food weekly. My family eats out all the time, so home cooked meals are few and far between.
To kick start my new healthy habits, I'm going to spend the next 30 days on a restricted diet while exercising every day. I believe this will jump start results I see in my body to give me the motivation to keep going after the month ends. Also, I am attending Bonnaroo in Tennessee June 9-12, so I want to look and feel my best for the outdoor music and arts festival. I think it's important to set goal dates to keep you going and keep you on track. The hard part is continuing after you've reached these dates! At least it has been for me. I'm ready to really commit now and hope that documenting my exercise and food choices on this blog will keep me from slipping up.
That's not all I want to write about on this blog, so if that doesn't interest you, don't worry. I'll also be writing about TV shows I'm watching, music I'm listening to, my job search and anything that is on my mind when I log in to blogger. I hope you stick around and follow me on my journey :)
